Certified Hospitality Manager (CHM)

Designed for independent, online study, the AHLEI Certified Hospitality Manager (CHM) is a comprehensive training programme that hones the skills needed to manage others, provide training, and exhibit effective business skills.

The CHM exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within a two-hour time period. All test questions are designed to test the candidate's mastery of various competencies derived from key areas of knowledge in combination with on-the-job hospitality work experience. The passing score is 70% or higher.

Resident Managers, Executive Assistant Managers, Directors of Operations, HODs and Assistant HODs whose job duties are at least 40 percent managerial in nature.

Lecture and presentations, small group discussion based on experiences, facilitator presentations and exam.

Dr. Jimmy Chow, DBA, MSc, CHA®, brings 30+ years in hospitality and currently manages Hotel Concepts Consultancy. Former roles include Senior VP at Swiss Garden International, Group GM at Nomad Group, and VP for Marketing at Mines Resort City. Holding a DBA, MSc, and Certified Hotel Administrator, he has facilitated AHLEI certifications in Malaysia since 2008, with extensive experience in hotel management, new openings, and property development ties in China, Singapore, and London. Dr. Chow is also an Industry Advisory Board Member for HELP University.

Meals are inclusive for the duration of the programme. Lunch and two coffee breaks are inclusive.

Once a participant's CHM prerequisites have been approved by AHLEI, no applicant transfer, substitute, or cancellation will be allowed.
